Netanyahu's opinions on economic matters are not separate from his political positions. Anyone who reads his writings and seriously considers the interviews he gave to Nekuda (the settlers' publication) and the Likud magazine prior to his election to the post of prime minister will understand that as far as Netanyahu is concerned, there is no reason to end the occupation. From his point of view, Israel can close itself off within a fence, conduct an armed and aggressive struggle against terror, and at the same time develop a tough neo-liberal economy.
